Look Again

Through the Eyes of God

Mark 10:14 “Let the children come to Me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children.”

Ask any couple who is pregnant or anyone who already has children if they had a preference to having a son or daughter and they will respond most of the time, “I just want to have a healthy baby.” I have heard so many times that once their baby was born they immediately counted the fingers and toes and then breathed a sigh of relief. This fact is so important to most of us with children that we had a test done during the pregnancy to determine if the baby would have some sort of defect in their DNA.

The Bondage of Choice & Freedom Offered to All

“If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:8-9

The “choice” that has led to the death of countless many did not have its genesis in The Supreme Court’s decision of Roe v Wade in 1973, but can be found in the book of Genesis, where the “choice” was made by both Adam and Eve to willfully disregard the specific direction of a loving and holy God.

Going Beyond

From Appreciation to Depreciation of Human Life

“But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to Him who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’” – Romans 9:20

The foundational principles of this great nation, despite the protests of revisionist historians, were founded on a Biblical worldview. A careful review of the written work of our founding fathers, combined with an overview of selected Scriptures, will confirm such a claim and serve as a contrast against the spirit of the age in which we now live. More specifically, today’s self-serving culture has moved from presuming in favor of life to presuming in favor of death.

The Legal Right to Take What Jesus Died to Save

“Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, “But we knew nothing about this,” does not He who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not He who guards your life know it? Will He not repay each person according to what he has done?” – Proverbs 24:11-12

On January 24, 2011, this nation recognized the 38th anniversary of what one of our highest elected officials termed “….a Supreme Court decision that protects women’s health and reproductive freedom, and affirms a fundamental principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters.” Such antiseptic language has become common place and continues to perpetuate the widely held myth that a legal right is not only the right thing, but that one’s “choice” to exercise that right must be protected at all costs, regardless of the damage that has been done to the very fabric of this nation’s soul and psyche.

Abyss 2

America’s Freefall into the Ammoral Abyss

“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” – Isaiah 5:20

As one grows older and the years pass us by, the aging process allows you to gain a perspective of understanding and wisdom and an ability to discern whether those years have witnessed change for the better or for the worse.

Remove Doubt

What Does it Mean to be Human?

“In His hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.” – Job 12:10

The issue of the sanctity and dignity of human life is really not a difficult issue, and certainly not something a disciple of Jesus Christ should wrestle with at anytime. An examination of God’s Word reveals the clear truth of this matter, whether we want to embrace it or not.

Life 2

The Dignity of All Human Life

“For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.” – Psalm 139: 13-17

    Well-Intended People
Recently I began reading a book called “Well-Intentioned Dragons” by Marshall Shelley. The crux of the book is dealing with problem people. When God calls us to build His kingdom it is not likely that your takeoff will be smooth. You may need to clear your runway, even before you take off. What you will [...]

    Do You Love Your Church?
I love what Jesus says about the church. The church is the bride of Christ. He loves the church because the church is a place where we tell people about Jesus and what He did for us. It’s a place where we can share each others burdens and be a family. When you brag on [...]

    The Spirit is Moving
The word of God says that Jesus has ascended into heaven and at this very time sits at the right hand of God the Father. If that is not enough for you, according to John 16:7, Jesus sends us the Holy Spirit to live within each believer. John 16:8 also happens to give us the [...]

    Lead!
When we think of Moses, we think “Leader” with a capital L. The guy was awesome! It seemed like daily he would look to heaven and say “OK God, what next?!” And as another day passed, Moses would again look to heaven and say “How about today, Lord, tell me what to do.” Moses was [...]

Verse of the Day

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
