“But I have trusted in Your mercy; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me.” Psalm 13:5,6
Life happens to us all. There’s no getting around it. When it is all said and done, what, or should I say who, do we put our trust in? When we do not put our trust in the Lord, we become unstable in many ways. Emotionally we can be tossed to and fro. Why? Because we have no solid foundation. The Psalmist David says, “I have trusted in Your mercy; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.” David looks to the heavens and declares that no matter what, “I trust in Your mercy O’ Lord, and I will rejoice in Your salvation.”
Do you see what David does? Amidst the chaos, regardless of the evil surrounding him, he looks to the heavens and is reminded of the goodness of the Lord. And when he does, his heart rejoices. When we reflect on the goodness and greatness of our Lord Jesus, we too will rejoice and sing a new song. Our heavenly Father wants nothing more than to draw closer to us every day. So make time to reflect on God’s goodness and rejoice in your salvation.
Amen
