“I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. May my meditation be sweet to Him; I will be glad in the Lord” Psalm 104:33,34.
The psalmist starts out by saying “I will sing to the Lord as long as I live”. What a great attitude to have. I mean, this should be our anthem when we wake up in the morning. “I will praise you Lord no matter what, for you are sovereign, merciful, graceful and loving towards me. And I will praise You for as long as I live!” That is powerful.
When we think about it, the Lord has given us everything we need to get through it all. Notice I said, everything we need, not everything we want. We should be praising God for the times He’s carried us, for the grace that He showers upon us when we sin, for the basic necessities that He provides. But most importantly, we should be praising Him because He still allows us to worship Him, even though we fail to please Him at times. That’s what I love about the Lord. He forgives and loves, forgives and loves. We don’t deserve it, but He continues to do so.
Church, as we are still here, we too, just like the psalmist, should be praising Him all the days of our lives. And when we do, our lives will be full of joy.
