Last night at LS we had a time dedicated to our children’s future. My wife Louise and I believe with all our hearts that a legacy starts at home. Because we believe that to be true it is not a stretch to stand on the word of God… check out this verse: Deuteronomy 6:4-9. We are commanded as parents to teach God’s ways DILIGENTLY to our children “and [you] shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”  What a rich word as God states clearly His plan for our kids; that we the parents step in and be the leaders and bridge to a Godly heritage.

As we learned last night, so many people feel the church should do more to educate our children in the ways of the Lord. Yet God is saying “No parents, you do your job and the church will support you!” Wow, what a shift in mindset! How did we miss that? We miss it because we as humans love to make excuses and point our fingers… heck I do it all the time! Today, have that finger point back at you and say “Lord, I stand on Your word in Deut 6:4-9. I am ready to lead my family.” When you get there know that you will have a church family here at LS that will support you and reinforce what you have taught Monday through Saturday. We are in this with you till Jesus takes us home!
