Over the past 2 months I have had the good fortune to go through the book of Hebrews with our church family. What a ride it’s been. The book is filled with warning after warning to a people who just don’t seem to get it. Hebrews Ch6 vs 4 says “It is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened.” You talk about a lay-it-on-the-line straight talk moment! Our Lord is saying that when you clearly hear the gospel and become aware of what Jesus Christ did for you and why you need Him you are enlightened. Of course to hear and not to respond is to say “Jesus… thanks but no thanks”. Be blessed that Jesus is patient and gives us warnings. If today you get it, thank Jesus and live your life the way He calls you to!
