Thinking eternally…that’s a scary thought. What would your day, my day, look like if we thought about the eternal implications of every action. Would we watch that show, buy that product, spread that rumor, ignore that person…probably not? So what keeps us from thinking eternally, for seeing every action, every conversation, every purchase in the context of eternity? Is it fear? Is it selfishness? I would argue that it is lack of perspective…if we had an eternal perspective, some our our choices would be so much different. The word says, The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever. Isaiah 40:8 Our perspective is shaped by the word of God, the more time we spend in his word, the more HE will shape our perspective. His word is our daily check and balance, if we are in His word daily, all of the above questions are already answered and more!
