Ok, you’re a Christian. Now what? Where do you go? What do you do? How do you do it? Good Questions! Answer: The Bible!! You see, it’s not called a sword for nothing, it’s our main weapon in our fight to be holy (set apart). There are a lot of angles you could take this topic, but I’m going to focus on repetition today.

I read a good book titled “How to Study the Bible” by John MacArthur. In this short and easy to read book John MacArthur talks about the first times he studied the bible. He says he started with the book 1 John. He read 1 John every day for 1 month. Then moved on to the book of John (7 chapters at a time), and read that everyday for a month. After 2 1/2 years, he had read the entire new testament, and knew it well, simply by repetition.

Now this did two things for him; first it gave him an entire library in his mind and heart for the Holy Spirit to use in combat, and second, it put him in a position to MAKE time to read not only these parts of the new testament, but to study the old testament as well.

You see, God made time for use. In fact He made an infinite amount of time for us, eternity. He sent Jesus to die for us so that he could make that time for us. The word of God says that we were His firstfruits when he chose us in the beginning. So, we have no choice but to bring Him our firstfruits; time, etc…

MAKE time to get in the Word and learn it, know it, and STUDY it. Repetition is a great tool to help you build your library of weapons for battle!

    Well-Intended People
Recently I began reading a book called “Well-Intentioned Dragons” by Marshall Shelley. The crux of the book is dealing with problem people. When God calls us to build His kingdom it is not likely that your takeoff will be smooth. You may need to clear your runway, even before you take off. What you will [...]

    Do You Love Your Church?
I love what Jesus says about the church. The church is the bride of Christ. He loves the church because the church is a place where we tell people about Jesus and what He did for us. It’s a place where we can share each others burdens and be a family. When you brag on [...]

    The Spirit is Moving
The word of God says that Jesus has ascended into heaven and at this very time sits at the right hand of God the Father. If that is not enough for you, according to John 16:7, Jesus sends us the Holy Spirit to live within each believer. John 16:8 also happens to give us the [...]

    Lead!
When we think of Moses, we think “Leader” with a capital L. The guy was awesome! It seemed like daily he would look to heaven and say “OK God, what next?!” And as another day passed, Moses would again look to heaven and say “How about today, Lord, tell me what to do.” Moses was [...]

Verse of the Day

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

(Ephesians 5:1-2, ESV)
